June 19, 2010 - Free RPG Day! Possibly, one of the coolest days of the year - it's kinda like a gamer Christmas. And Dragon's Lair Comics & Fantasy(R) in Austin, Texas is lucky enough to have Scott & Aaron come do a demo for us! 12:00 Noon, they'll be running a Shard RPG Demo! If you're in the Austin area (or even the great state of Texas) - you should make a point to come swing by and check it out!

And how does that get attached to the image? Scottie ^_^” Scott, That code is already there - that's the <a href=> code; it get attached to the image by pasting the code with the image code when you have the image posted somewhere. I hope that made sense; I'm only about half-awake!

That looks great. The code would look something like this:Quote: “ <a href="http://www.shardrpg.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q305/Jadugara/ArtfulShardStudioLogoFlat.jpg" alt="Shard Studios Logo"></a>” The text in bold is the image location and should be replaced with the location of where ever they host the image. If you were interested - instructions you could post for download. Quote: “Instructions for Use of Shard Studios Banner - This image is copyright S…

Scott, All you need to do is create the banner images and put them in the forum for us to save. I can write the associated HTML - just make sure you tell people not to hotlink the images so it doesn't affect your bandwidth. /jayiin

jayiin mistaya - - Welcome to SHARD

    Post

Welcome to Shard! It's always awesome to see new players - I've been excited about this game since Scott and Aaron first showed it to those of us at Dragon's Lair in Austin about two years ago. As for GM'ing a game - that can be kinda scary, no matter what system you use, but Shard is a system that comes complete with a lot of GM tools and the flexibility to play with lots of concepts. The mechanics are actually the easiest part of GM'ing a game, I've found. Once you learn the mechanics of the g…

    Sell me the mechanics

*coughs and drop two cents on the table* First off: to each their own. I can barely stand to play D&D 3.5, because it's a power-gamers playground and seems designed for munchkining, but I really enjoy D&D 4E because of it's limits - and because, to me, it encourages role-play not dictated by dice. Creating role-playing and stories is something that is entirely up to the players and the GM. Despite my intense dislike of D&D 3.5, one of my favorite PCs was created and played in that system. Potent…

My favorite animal comes from one of my favorite childhood stories - a mongoose. The story Riki Tikki Tavi by Rudyard Kipling got me reading his works, and I haven't stopped since. I'll admit his stories were the first thing I thought about when I first saw Shard! (This is me hoping for a mongoose template...)

There are plans for demos in both Dragon's Lair Austin and Dragon's Lair San Antonio. What Scott and Aaron aren't running, I probably will be! (Before anyone asks, I am the webmaster for both Dragon's Lair stores and occasionally run game demos!) Keep your eyes on the Dragon's Lair online message boards and our website (dlair.net and dlair.net/phpbb3) for more information. Thanks!
