Our story is winding to an end. The "evil" sword was named Soulsting. We are going up against a monsterous sorcerous Suthra who has absorbed the powers of the others we have been fighting. It's power is great. To this end, I think that I will revisit my greatest tradition as a player. Jasher shall become a martyr. I plan to pull all the power possible from his demon, then all the power (even his life force) he has in his body, and turn him into a bomb. I just hope that Kills this thing. Otherwis…

Somehow, your character with his many body modifications makes me think of the Cenobites from Hellraiser, which believe that pain and warping of one's self is the key to enlightenment (as far as I know).” Well so far he has only the sigil as his body modifaction. The atempt to ga…

Well Using a the firearm wouldn't be our Dardunian Kiku's only problem, if I remember right he was also pretending to be a Samurai, so he would be a peasant Pretending to be High Caste! More over if we were to continue this, he is using the firearm to in effect protect other peasants. Depending on who the lord is and their outlook on Peasants, that could change things. If this lord considers the life of a peasant to be his properity than he may have Kiku beaten and sent to a penal colony If he i…

So, the number of dice that can be rolled for any one test is 12. We have many members of our table who are rapidly approtching 12 or even 14 ranks in their skills. Jasher for one on his essence + Mystic Ranks checks is already rolling 11. And when I spend his next bit of story points he will be rolling 12 on his summoning tests. SO what happenes when you reach after modifiers are at 13 dice? Obviously you drop down to 12 but is that 1 just lost? Does it grant a reroll or one failure? Is this so…

Exactly, what could possibly go wrong. Wow I love how when I tamper with boarderline blasphemy people get their creative juices going. And a part of the process will be that it will burrow into the skin (ouch), so that just the tip it's tail is sticking out and it is concealed by my clothes.

Even with his new combat powers Jasher has descided to do something possibly evil. He will use his magic to alter a Suthra weapon, into a bonded Symbotic weapon. A Bonding it semi-perminatly to his body. Of course that would require altering the creature using the Enhancement Discipline set, and summoning to call up a a Whip or punching Dagger. Then I will perminatly bond the creature to my mind so that it is subject to my will and obeys me perfectly, without having to rely on the suthra use ski…

It sounds like you found it, accidentally (or purposefully) disturbed it, awoke it from some slumber, and then used magic to sooth it and put it back to sleep, is that correct? Scottie ^_^” Actualy…

Like having to ponder if every ritual is worth your life. I am not sucking attention but I've lost 2 of 6 will already.

For the game I am in we encountered a strange Suthra. At first we didn't know what it was so I decided to use the summoning ritual to attempt to calm this unkown beast. Figuring that I just needed to calm it's mind and put it back to sleep. Is this a valid use of summoning? Or did I blow smoke at my GM?

Jasher wasn't the one that bound her. His father was. Jasher had summoned her using her true name but she was too powerful and willful for him to control. Jasher had summoned her because his elder brother feared his ever growing skill as a sorcerer and didn't want to loose being the hire to their father's seat on the ruling council. The demon was bound to save his life, and their house from shame/the wrath of a demon scorned. Which is why he was exciled to the mainland.

This is going to get scary fast. @Sherbie: Yeah she has Enemy and I have let the GM know. I chose Hideos because it is freaky. Basicly it is a Sigil cut into his living flesh and then had searing hot Amber with silver pourded into it. The Sigil is a Demon Sigil. The reason I choose hideous is that lame or the others didn't quite fit to describe this amber sign on his chest that his flesh only grew enough around to hold it in better. It's not that it is so ugly as it is unnerving to people to see threw the amber and see the sear…

Thanks for the advice. I will do that because I did buy up a few skills. Mystic ritual being one, and raising attributes is cheaper at character creation. It was an attempt to not min/max with such a potent edge on my character I figured best not to give him too good of stats, so kinda like anti min/max. And yes that would be a worst case scenario they would have to cut it out of his flesh. So the poor sorcerer would probably be dead!

This is ment to be one of those things that looks like a double edged sword but is actualy a Guitine with a slice of cheese cake in the basket so your victem puts themself in for you. In this case I the player am the victem. What I think I will do is post the Sheet, just so someone can check my math, then post the Demon/possession form. remember the player becomes possession forms Contact, and constant annoyance. Basicly fliping rolls with the demon.

Yes it is powerful boon, but the cost of that power is high. The more often it is used the more likely will drain is, the more likely the character is to be possessed. Since she is a "demon sorcereress" and has an enemy back home even more powerful than she is, well I think the party will be in trouble regaurdless. Not to mention reestablishing control will be hard because of how strong she will be. That and the character does not get to sap the demons will, he just recovers his a bit. It will a…

Sorry for the thread necromancy but... Wouldn't/couldn't even different types of crystals grant a subtle advantage over different kinds of preternatural foes. For example let's say we are going after a demon. Some traditions would say a jade weapon, if I asked an Apache they would say Onyx or Obsidian. If I wanted an armor that could help protect me from evil magic again I would use this sort of stone worked into it. Preternatural creatures usually have a weak point and having these banes may gr…
