Oh belive me we are having lot's of fun... And to my surprise the rules are that easy that you can create such epic moments without rule checks (bad memories of rule-lawyers in DnD :/) Also the setting is very amusing... me, my friend and brother are just stunned how fluent and uncommon this RPG is... I'm also planning to make a review on YT, since I'm so impressed by the game, and I hope that my players will take part the Video since they are seeing the Dardunah world from the player perspectiv…

Session 5 Dudu and Ligatok moved to the palace making only a short stop at the shops. Dudu of course buyes himself a barrel of a strong alcohol and a net that figures as a backpack (no backpack fitted the size of a bear, so he bought a net). I also explained Dudu's player that he should add a drawback to his character... alcoholism. The players and Gernusahr moved to the ruins ambushed by Makri... after a fight and exploring the blank walls of the (some sort off) small chapel, they found a trapd…

Session 4 was just a plain - have fun in the City and getting a new Job - session... In a nutshell - they arrived at the city Gajanah by skyship seeing the huge forrests of Kutta. After they desembarked at the port tower Dudu quickly had an argument with the local guard (the reason was his kilt ). They helped Natak to get out of the ship. They moved to the palace to meet the Great Isvar, a german shepherd Inathus. After shareing the story of what happened, Inathus ordered to take Vastar's mine, …

    Lylat's Last Stand

    RennardFuchs - - Off-Topic Discussions

    Post

Hey there everyone Since this have nothing to do with Shard at all I have to put her in the off-topic discussions. I just wanted to let you know about a fantastic mod I'm working on. It's called Lylat's Last Stand (the previous project name was SFR), and as some propably already figured out it's a StarFox mod... It's based on the source engine, and is absolutely non-profit, so when it will be done it will be free (well it's a long road since then) but we're heading full-ahead to the pre-alpha. H…

I would tell you what the crystal in my personal campaign is doing... I think the players would be able to read this and use this insider knowle... OK it's to much tempting: The Black Crystal The black crystal is one of the most unusual types of crystals, even scholars and crystal carvers don't really know of it's existence, it's more of an ancient legend and the powers of the crystal aren't yet really known by the Janah - simply because of it's rareness. It appears as a floating black crystal, …

So to keep the tradition on... May the Devah bless you on your quest to create breathtaking adventures, and keep the world of Dardunah alive. For all the pain and anger sometimes players causes, may your children be blessed by your tears. For all Gamemasters, live your world and share your vision to others. May your crystal never shatter. What Inspires your Combat?

    RennardFuchs - - SHARD Combat

    Post

In our campaign the PC haven't learned Martial arts so far - the fistfights in the game are looking a bit like Indiana Jones with the "all-I-can-find-wrestling-style". But it's the best when the character is telling what is he going to do (a similar scene to the larynx crushing in our campaign was in DragonBall Z when Vegeta used his knee to crush his foes neck). I think the best examples for SHARD-style Martial Arts are: -Bruce Lee Movies -Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (never seen the whole mo…

Session 3 Vastar, Dudu and Ligatok arrived the crystal mine the next morning - a single small mountain and on the higher levels a skyship. The mine looked abbandoned - they tried to sneak into it through the main gate (I left the option open to use the vetilation chambers of the mine - but they haven't thought about it). Ligathok took the point and checked the situation. A small guarding room with 2 Vajrah, he went back to Dudu and Vastar. They decided to attack them. Before they could even land…

    Youtube Video Review

    RennardFuchs - - General Discussion

    Post

Well... I saw the review last week or so, and I must say that he gave Shard a possitive commentary - but, the points that he criticized are a bit strange. He said that he would like to make the zoics with digitigrade legs... a GM has the "power" to make it so - that is the advatage of old-school gaming. THE GM CONTROLS THE WORLD not the rulebook. I found the magic system very interesting and unique, there are much possibilities if the GM knows how to use it in the right way - that is what I disl…

Session 2 Dudu and Ligatok found out that they are running out of money. Looking for work they are going to a tavern (don't remember the name). The barkeeper told them that Vastar - a curious and a little overconfident racoon was looking for some people. After that, Dudu told somebody about his strong stomach - so he participated in a drinking challenge (yeah we know that from other RPG's :P). He took the strongest alcoholic drink and drank it instantly. With only a partial success he managed to…

Hey there folks! I just want to show you the progress of my little campaign that I make for me and my friends. I will show you what happened - hopefully session after session - for you to take part by giving me some inspirations by sending some ideas for the story that I could use via PM - and for me and my friens to have an overlook on the whole campaign. Have fun! The first session was an intro for the system - nobody except me have read the rulebook so far - but I must say, they've learned th…

    Hey all, I'm new here!

RennardFuchs - - Welcome to SHARD

    Post

Hey there! Welcome to the Shard - forum. Finding new players is incredibly hard - I have that problem too... especially in unique settings like Dardunah, the WH40k universe etc. when sb. isn't familiar with it or find it too difficult to understand. As you know Paper-pen RPG are consequently replaced by computer games because there are faster, require less work and imagination... bla, bla, bla There is one thing that computer games can't replace - interaction... When I try to convince somebody t…

    Shard in german?

    RennardFuchs - - Future Products

    Post

Well, maybe it could be possible as a "fandub". Some people like me or Sherbie could try to translate the original books to german. A lot of work but sure it would be fun

  • User Avatar

Well I think the biggest problem nowadays is to find a constant group of players. The "cool computers" are taking time, and young board-, war-, roleplayers like me are quite rare - especially in Poland. Thanx for the support I really appreciate it. Actually I would really enjoy if the book were signed by the authors, illustrators etc. but maybe I will send a letter with an stamped and adressed envelope just as I have done with the autograph requests I've sended. But not now, I'm still waiting fo…
