    Non-Animal Animal Templates

Ok! So, First: of I have to thank Sherbi for the awesome interactive template maker thing, it rocks, and works really well for this. Second: Not all the Templates I'm going to post are going to be "Non-Animal," but most of them will. Things like Humans, Elves, Dwarves and the like, as there doesn't seem to be any other place to find these, nor anyone else making them, I figured I'd post them here Ironically, the first templates that I've created are Animal in nature, but I highly doubt there are…

    Map Making Tools

Alright, probably the most fun I have doing anything GM related is making maps. Give me a game that allows you to make custom maps, and I'm on it for hours on end. Making, tweeking, designing and the like. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find a good, free map maker for the computer that's fairly simple. I'm not that great with google either, so looking for one is hard for me. Anyway, in my random wondering of the subject, I found this site, which has user created images and stuff for downlo…

Woo! Cool stuff here XD. The shard PDF sheet is especially handy, but I'm also REALLY interested in the map thing. I gotta figure out how to make that work. Apperently I'm going to need to find textures and other things, but otherwise, it should be great for making detailed maps and stuff... Kind of hard to learn though, and it's apparently meant mostly for online gaming, which is "Kind of" a bugger, as I do enough of that through MMO's and forums anyway. But I don't think there's any other kind…

Still lookin' forward to coming by the booth and talkin' with you guys in person again, and playing a bit of those demos and the like, always fun :D.

Back again with something beautiful! This is rather amazing, if you ask me, I want an MP3 of it and to listen to it as I sleep.

Well... Sadly this has all already been done and dealt with, I'm now just basing most of this off of memory (to be honest, those three nights were rather memorable). I wanted to relay all of this before all it's grandness is lost to the vastness of memory and imagination. And you haven't seen people reserve slots on a forum before? Well... I guess I'm more of a forumite then most others, so I've seen it done when people start doing forum walk-throughs, and the like, they've got more to say, and …

((Players will be: Gecko "Assassin", Monkey "Poison-master", and Rabbit "Spy")) So, how was I going to start this shindig then? I knew that the three of them were stealthy, so I knew I had to incorporate that somehow, but how do I make this interesting? I figured there was some sort of war going on, an anonymous war that didn't have to do anything with anything, but it was a war nonetheless, and the lord that these guys were to work for needed them to do things. But what would they need to do? S…

Alright, since I SEEM to be getting nowhere trying to get my group to read the darned book and get inspired to RUN it so that *I* can play this awesome game, it would seem that I have to step up to the pitchers mound and throw this game at them (though, if you go by that analogy, then I guess I'm secretly playing for their team, as I want them to hit a home run...). I wanted the players to play their own characters, and I wanted to think up something unique that didn't require the pre-made chara…

'Aight, I got a problem... How do I make it so that combat is interesting? I recently GM'd three sessions of Shard with some friends (It went wonders, by the way, More on that later), and the combat seemed a little... lackluster... Which is how it is with my friends... unfortunately. See... We're all very smart, mathematically and otherwise, so when it came to combat, and I showed my players the maneuver location table, they kind of glanced at it, and then forgot about it. This isn't the main pr…

How can something that was once so boring, so uninteresting be... so beautiful? The symphony of science. Using a program called auto-tunes, one can turn anyone that speaks into a singing genius. Now, knowing how powerful music is, and knowing how passionate scientists are about their subject. Combine the two, ad a great tune in the back, and you get something... Amazing... Something that wants you to learn more, something that makes you want to explore what they're talking about, what they're si…

I never said that no-one had no social skills, did I? I'm just sayin' that I didn't... well, not many anyway. Still, it's a good to encorperate things that'll require skills that, at least to me, might make your players miss something. I'm a completionist in any game. i tend to complete the entire game first, so when it comes to missing something, I get annoyed. So the best way to get me to grab some different, cultural skills, is to make me miss something. I've also been tooling around with the…

From a players point of view: I've found that, what's best to get me to grab some "cultural skills," is for the GM to decide to throw culture at us... Not make it so that it's a breaking point of the game, but one where an NPC "It would probably be best to hide the message in a secret compartment in a finely crafted box, and give it as a gift to the princess to know where and when you'll be, so she knows how to get out ahead of time." AFTER THAT, most of the players sit and go "wait... do any of…
