Regarding keeping in character, once the WORLD GUIDE is published you will have so much more information to consider which may alter the way you choose to compose your fiction... I cannot wait to hear what you think of it.

If they appeared upon the world of SHARD without disguises it is highly possible they might be mistaken for cursed Janah or Demons. But if this is only for your own fiction and will not be using the rules of the game as they are laid out within our book then any thing could be possible which suits your narrative.

It would depend upon the family you were from and possibly the whether you were of high rank within the Trade Caste itself. I would think it might be more likely the higher up you were with the Trade Caste and the wealthier your family was. Considering it would make good business sense to wed a daughter to a mate with advantages such as valuable contacts able to strengthen the merchants access to wealth and or possibly trade negotiations with formerly unavailable sources. With this as an underly…

Possibly... I would still like to encourage you to read all of the SHARD books before deciding upon which game system will serve your purposes easiest... If you are interested in a more story driven game.... I think the clear choice will be SHARD.

Hello and welcome back to the Forum! I am here to answer any questions you may have regarding the game and can be found here at least three times per week in general, sometimes more often as the need may dictate. It gives me great pleasure to say that indeed you are correct. The book will be made available as a PDF on drivethrurpg as soon as we can completely upload it onto that site... In addition it will be available in just about 2 months through Studio 2 publishing. What that means is that a…

I like the way that you ended the story, leaving it shrouded in mystery. That was very cinematic! Earlier this week we were working on the World Guide which will contain a step by step way to design creatures for your campaign. This will be very helpful in fleshing out the Bestiary and keeping the players from becoming too familiar with all the monsters before you have had the time to feature them in an adventure. This will also provide Game Masters with the key to unlimited variety of special c…

Travel between the shards is a very very difficult task even for legendary characters. In one of our adventures we were able to journey to the edge of the world and during the trip we were assaulted by fierce storms which steadily increased in power and size. We encountered huge water spouts which stretched into the heavens, lightning bolts of immense size, and whirling wind storms which resisted our magics power to calm. Nearer to the edge we encountered Shard storms of epic size with regularit…

The work is proceeding well as far as the expansion of the bestiary is concerned, I believe with the new tools we are in the process of creating there will be an over abundance of unique creatures available for every occasion. We are working diligently to devise a simple way to deliver a world full of diverse creatures for each and every game style. A system which will keep player on the edge of their seats as they are able to encounter rare insectoids of every possible nature, forcing those wit…

I can see why you might have thought that, however the answer is no. That serpent pictured next to Kramah is in fact Nagamissa. Also known as the Great Mother, or Amasurah in her darker aspects. If you were to be able to see the entire picture you would be able to see she is depicted as pregnant with a large belly showing that she is able to give birth to concepts such as wisdom, or darker wisdom which essentially allowed the arts of summoning to become known to the world.

Both are Paksin and could be Sunborn Nobles from the land known as Rakbar. That means that the basic script would be able to be virtually untouched with the exception of altering the setting to adopt to reflect the different cultural paradigm... To me it sound like it would be a visual and fantastical masterpiece!

If they were unable to secure an actor possessing the qualities naturally they would do the same thing which actors upon Earth have done through out the ages. They would use artistic talent to create props , make up and special effects which closely mimic the original. The Janah think of their many different forms as a disguise against a manifestation known only as the Great Devourer, what this means and how it is manifested may vary from region to region and from culture to culture.

One the matters and ways of the Devah I can speak with no authority. That the Devah no longer walk among the jánah is clear. By the will of the Great Mother and Father, all the Devah were forbidden from setting foot upon the world of Dardunah without Their divine permission, which may be granted during times of great and epic need. After this decree that the Devah could never step foot or directly interect with the jánah again, of all the Devah only Nagamíssa is mentioned as having given birth t…

I totally understand what you are saying about the smell of Tobacco smoke. I can also say that I drank alcohol in the past but decided to stop indulging in its use many years ago. I also have a deep love for junk foods which contain sugar including cake of all kinds, cookies ( particularly chocolate chips ) Pies, candy, dried fruits, as well as a good burger and fries from time to time. This is an excellent question! I would tend to answer it as follows: Smoking on the world of Dardunah is not q…

The name KlinRa is the name of the island nation itself and not used to reference a single entity but rather the entire kingdom. I also enjoyed reading mythology of many different types from many different nations and I could easily see some of the same types of stories happening upon the world of DARDUNAH with respect to some of the nature spirits and other supernatural beings which will be detailed in the book we are currently working on called The World Guide.

Which rules system would you use? Magic could be handled completely differently depending upon which set of rules you chose. Most game systems tend to approach magic as if it were similar to a super-power and less like the ceremonial magic which is presented with in the pages of the SHARD RPG. These differences can make quite a difference in the way the game is played and the fictional story line and plot of the game itself. I encourage you to stay with in the bounds of the rules of the game in …

We encourage all players to become familiar with our game and to enjoy it in whatever manner seems most pleasurable. This includes choosing to use this game as it is presented or to use your imaginations to expand upon the fiction thereby making it your own. I would encourage anyone to learn as much about the world of SHARD as it is presented before attempting to merge it with another game system. The reason I suggest this is because until one has a firm grasp upon the possibilities we have pres…

In Shard the stories adults might tell their young might be influenced by supernatural creatures and events such as Elementals or nature spirits. It might also involve ancient fables or tales designed to reinforce some aspect of social structures or natural processes such as the seasons or possibly even the rising and setting of the sun itself. Tales concerning the passing of family members into the shining edges of heaven to dance with the Great Mother and Father might also be popular, consider…
