Are there any banners for like myspace or to put in forum sigs? I think it will be cool to have one. Anyone know how to make those things? like have one of several guys fighting or something to really show the shard world to other people.

What a great idea! Do you mean like the kind of banners that have the code attached so you can put them on your site to give others a link to our site? That kind of thing?
Scottie -
That kind of banner would be most appreciated, though I could write the code for any image you create.
(We could link you on the Dlair page, even!)/jayiin -
Yeah, like something I can put on my myspace page. Or something people can click when they see my sig in other forums.

I'll talk to our guy that helps us set up all our web stuff, and see what it takes to add that type of thing to the site,...to see what we need and where we'd end up placing it... If nothing else, if there's no place to put it on the main site (like some of the various stores and comics that offer such a feature), then we might even opt to put it here on the forums for folks to get it they'd like to use it...
Let me look into it and see what it would take...
Scottie -
Scott,
All you need to do is create the banner images and put them in the forum for us to save. I can write the associated HTML - just make sure you tell people not to hotlink the images so it doesn't affect your bandwidth.
/jayiin/jayiin -
Cool! Thanks Jayin!
Is there a typical size or set of sizes I should be making for these? Or can you point me to an example of what's expected? I have some links to other sites on the main SHARD site, but those images I just sorta pulled out of my own behind (to suit my page), and didn't base them on any standard...

How would this work?
LostFoxeh, were you looking for something bigger,...smaller?

We use this for our personal company link on Drivethru RPG...(which leads to our game's webpage...) Would this do the trick, Jayin?
Scottie -
That looks great.
The code would look something like this:
<a href="http://www.shardrpg.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q305/Jadugara/ArtfulShardStudioLogoFlat.jpg" alt="Shard Studios Logo"></a>
The text in bold is the image location and should be replaced with the location of where ever they host the image.
If you were interested - instructions you could post for download.

Neat! But doesn't there also need to be code that links those who click on the image to the shardrpg.com site? Where does that code come into play? And how does that get attached to the image?

Scott,
That code is already there - that's the <a href=> code; it get attached to the image by pasting the code with the image code when you have the image posted somewhere.
I hope that made sense; I'm only about half-awake!/jayiin -

Oh!!! OK,...I think I get it... For some reason, all I saw at first was the code pointing to the site containing the image, and I missed the bit relating to the Shard home page....
You must remember, I'm a total luddite when it comes to this kind of stuff... Having never created a web-page of my own without the help of someone else (namely our web-master Dane), I generally depend on built-in (i.e. it makes the code for me) technology to allow me to create some kind of active link...

This is a banner I made for a website I am still trying to put together. It uses some of the art from the Welcome Booklet. Intended to link to shardrpg.com of course!
Feel free to use it if you like. I do realize it is not a standard banner size and apologize for that.
