Yep,..that's right! I have added a brand new chapter to the basic Compendium, making the book over 20 pages LONGER! It's gonna cost,..but I think it's worth it.
This one's for Betafu,..who brought up his concern both here on the Forum (under Basic Rules), and personally with his group and GM (Joe) at one of the last of their playtest games that I attended as a guest. These guys were GREAT,..and by far the best group of playtesters other than my own as far as input goes... Because of that group's input, and the excellent collaboration with their GM Joe, two chapters have been utterly rewritten, and this new chapter has been added to the Basic Compendium... Thanks again so much!
This additional chapter concerns the magic of Dardunah, and is just as in-depth and full of juicy in-game narrative as the new Combat Chapter is, laying out the fully-realized mechanics of performing a ritual, the do's and dont's, as well as full-blown descriptions of what performing each of the four basic types of magic is like. It does cover a few things that will be repeated in the Magic and Martial Arts book, but not exactly verbatim in most cases,..and some new explanatory material will be added to Magic and Martial Arts to let readers know that such sections are merely reminders of what has been covered in this new chapter...
Check it out! The Narrative Descriptions of the Rituals are especially juicy, and really give the new reader and game-player a great understanding of the role-playing event of ritual magic itself...
