  • Not Taking a Drawback

griffin - - World of Dárdünah

That might be a way to explain taking an Animal Ability for such as Night Vision for a type of animal which normally does not have it, as long as the Game master can be convinced that it might be possible.

I like the way that you took a normal thing ( such as one of the Drawbacks) from one of the templates and altered it by leaving it out, it is a clever way to make your character more unique and to breath a bit of life into to it by adding your own personal experience to it. I would think you could even take this idea further by purchasing an Advantage such as Fame and have your notoriety be due to your fantastic eyesight and possibly your artistic ability as well. In this way your character woul…

  • That is a million dollar question, each character had its own highlights and challenges. I am a player who believes in investing as much time as possible into back stories and details which add depth to my character creation process, and in so doing I tend to create characters with lots of detail and room to explore ethical dilemmas.

  • This is an interesting post, and one that I feel is near and dear to my heart. The reason being that for a while I ( a male ) role played almost exclusively female characters in games by Scott. It was such a habit that everyone in our gaming group automatically knew I would be playing a strong female lead character of some sort. I can only speculate this was an easy task for me due to the fact that within the African American households there are no small number of such examples available to dra…

As far as I know most of the anthro player characters were created straight from the imaginations of our industrious players, however who truly knows where they may have drawn inspiration for the characters from, it is not unreasonable to assume that even when we think we are creating something new we may be using some aspect of our subconscious mind to recreate some notable character from a fiction we have encountered and enjoyed.

I have played many cooks in our games, One of which can be found in the back of the Basic Compendium. His name is Yetsirah and he was a poison arrow frog who happened to be both the ships doctor as well as the cook. You would be surprised how much fun it is to feed the other player characters and to encourage them to think about some of the more mundane activities such as eating with a new sense of appreciation. It was one of my most beloved characters due to the extra care he had to take in ord…

This is a wonderful idea for a story hook within game however, can you imagine being a mother who was unsure whether or not she would be able to nurse her child? What implication would this uncertainty cause during the process of selecting a suitable mate? How would the mother deal with such a situation during the process of making the child immune if it were to be role played in game? Would the parents need to keep plenty of antidote to the poison on hand, how much would it cost? Would the need…

It is also important to mention that when Adhitúmuss, "slipped through the cracks of the "Cycle of Life and Death" to escape from the Swirling Hells and manifest, once again, on the world, where he immediately took up his plans for world domination" he used the rules that other beings without physical bodies use to do so, which means that he sought out a new vessel to be used for a home to his spirit as he set about his diabolical plans...

  • In our current game where we are play testing some of the new rules introduced with in the pages of the now published Magic and Martial Arts Guide there are many awesome moments I could share. First allow me to set the scene by saying that in this campaign we are all playing child thieves who happen to be Outcaste under the control of a street father similar to a character from a Charles Dickens novel. Being only 7-9 years of age and having to steal for a living has given us the opportunity to d…

  • She may not have been rude however I would say that she is easily satisfied and perhaps a bit short sighted. Despite my love for the game which we have played for decades I have never declined to even hear about another game, in fact quite the contrary I have played a number of different games simply for a change of pace. Does that mean that I consider them better than SHARD? No, but it was still a pleasure to enjoy them, and to meet new role players in the experience.

The Princes of any of the nations may well be either male or female and this is reflected in many of the Principalities upon the face of the world. The simple rule of thumb however is that what we provide in our text only covers certain time periods and if a game master is running a campaign outside of those times they are free to select the sex of the ruler of any nation to suit the needs of the campaign they are running. The rules as they are written expressly state that any tittle may be held…

This caused me to reflect upon the profound impact music has had upon our gaming experiences over the years. Scott has often said " If a picture is worth a thousand words, music is worth a million."

There are indeed female rulers some of which rule in the lands of the Sarpah. Klin Rah is ruled by a council of elites, and as such has a number of females as members, but due to the nature of the machinations which are the bread and butter of that nation the length of time any of them serve is directly related to the skill they possess in navigating the dangers posed by those who would seek to replace them.

  • Be sure to drop us a line and continue to visit this site to get the latest released SHARD information, we are even now uploading bits and pieces of the World Guide which is guaranteed to inspire more fictional depth in any campaign.

  • I have found that the best way to get the attention of people with the kind of attitude the girl expressed is to ignore them completely and keep searching for other people like yourself, people who have been raised with common decency and have class enough to interact with other people with out being totally rude. If you can even find one person to share with, the fun you will be having will naturally draw others to you who want the same experience for themselves, as for the rude girl, the only …

I am not sure what you mean by this, am I misunderstanding you? I am assuming that TMNT is short for another game, which we are not qualified to comment on with any true authority. I can however guarantee you with reasonable assurance that all the skills in our game are based upon achieving a simple success and if that can be accomplished the skill in question is performed in a manner and to a degree that indicates what any reasonable person would expect from a successful performance. The reason…
